Recent college graduate and part-time cat familiar Dulcina “Sweets” Gato is having the worst New Year’s Eve in living memory. End of year expenses trigger serious cash flow problems, and her microwave just went up in smoke. To make matters worse, her best friend’s overprotective big brother is back in town, and his return threatens to put a huge crimper on her nocturnal activities. The only thing she can look forward to is Madame Eve’s 1-Night Stand service. After all, she’s sick and tired of being a 21-year-old virgin.

Enforcement Agent Mikal Knight is a warlock on a mission. Having finally scored a transfer to Washington, D.C., he’s now at liberty to pursue the object of his desires—his baby sister’s best friend. But first, he has a vigilante to track down and a mysterious matchmaking service to investigate. Sent on an undercover operation, he resigns himself to a pointless 1-Night Stand on New Year’s Eve. As luck would have it, his mystery date’s identity might let him kill several birds with one stone.

Lee's Review
I enjoyed this story and wish it was longer. The sex scenes have good setups, are steamy, and don't overwhelm the story. Dulcita and Mikal are each good, solid characters with enough personality to grab onto and roll around in. The author has a great voice, one I could happily read for an extended period of time. The paranormal elements are clever, understandable, and presented well.

The one thing I didn't like: infodumping. This story suffers from globs of backstory exposition that, while written with a degree of humor, nevertheless take away from the story. Much of the information is unnecessary for the enjoyment of this installment, and it simply has too much for a work of this length. The romance itself is a culmination of previous events and history. Because there's little of the relationship shown in this particular story, I don't think it stands well on its own, but rather should be considered as part of the series it belongs to.

This story is a light-hearted, entertaining (and naughty) way to pass an hour or two, and after soaking up this one, I'm eager to indulge in the previous two. Ms. Quan may have just earned herself a new fan.

Sharon's Review
This was a fun read with a capital F. It was so visual I could almost feel what it would be like to be Dulcina. I share a caffeine addiction with her, so I understand the feeling of loss for her morning cup with the microwave blew up. It made me laugh some, and smile a lot. It was a great mood uplift on a gloomy snowy winter day. It’s sexy and stimulating without being crass or pornographic – wait, maybe just a bit pornographic. I would give this book a full five. This is the third in Ms. Quan’s A Witch’s Night Out series. I’d just love to get my hands on the other two – Flirting with Fire and Frosty Relations.
