Lady Renna, the holder of Ren Creek and veteran of the Rebellion, wants nothing more than to lead a peaceful life as a weaver, but trouble comes looking for her. When she refuses her powerful neighbor's suit--because Lord Gorsfeld wants her lands at the confluence of the great southern river-- his men attack her villages. Then, her leader from the Rebellion, Mariah, wants her to become involved with the struggle over who will rule the Marches.

Renna must find a way to protect her people, her pet pig, and get even, all on her own terms.

Troublesome Neighbors

The Lady Renna, holder of Ren Creek, gathered oak galls to dye another batch of yarn. The bright fall sun cast deep shadows in the woods surrounding her. Two half-filled baskets swung from her yoke, her uneven gait sending them brushing against the willows growing along the stream. Renna swung her short-handled hoe in time to the bird song soaring from the trees.

I have to admit that Troublesome Neighbours is one of the best adventures i've read in a long time. The plot moves at a good, steady pace and the action scenes are great. The author also does a great job in character development that I can't go into, cause that would spoil the joy of reading the novel. This story is definitely worth the read.

I would recomend this to those who loves a good adventure, as you'll be transfored to a magical world or heroes and elves and all sorts of magical creatures. I can hardly wait tfor the sequel. Please bring it on!

It's nice to read a book that involves elves rather than vampires and werewolves. It has really interesting characters that reminded me more of Lord of the Rings and A Game of Thrones.

I must say that right after I finished reading the book, I was eager to learn more about about the author M.K. Theodoratus and if she plans to release a sequel real soon. Thumbs up for this book. I highly recommend it to everyone, specially those bookworms who fancy elves and fictional tales.

Author Bio

M. K. Theodoratus has been intrigued by fantasy since she discovered the Oz books. She has traveled through many fantasy worlds since then. When she's not reading about other writer's worlds, she's creating her own -- mostly that of the Far Isle Half-Elven where she explores the social and political implications of population genetics on a hybrid people.

A sixth grade English assignment introduced her to story writing. The teacher asked for a short story. She got an incomplete, 25-page Nancy Drew pastiche which turned into a novel the next summer. Theodoratus has been addicted to writing stories ever after.
