Earth Angel is one of those books that you will either really enjoy or dislike right off the bat. Fortunately for me it happened to be a book I really enjoyed. There are a lot of characters in a lot set in a lot of different places, it is a fantasy world so new rules apply. It is hard to see in the beginning how all these different characters will come together by the end of the book, but know that they will and when they do a lot of the questions will be answered.

At first we meet Gabrielle and her brother Oz who are in a prison called Khartaz. This is the prison that holds the worse of the worse. It is located in the middle of the desert where everyone prays for rain, but knows the Gods will not hear them. Gabrielle and her brother Oz have a friend name Jess. These three characters are important. Gabrielle wants to escape and manages to talk everyone else to go along with it. The first chapter alone is filled with heartache, pain, anger, laughter, and regret. It sweeps you away into the lives of these prisoners making you hopeful for their success in this foolish plan of escape and yet dreadful because you know deep down that it may not happen.

From them we switch to Zenovia and orphan desperate to find her parents. This orphan runs into an Earth Angel named Faith and her companion Orlando. This story is the one that helps us to answer some major questions. Like what are Earth Angels, what really happened in the desert, who is the Gods, and what are their roles. From this chapter we move on with the story and we start to get a glimpse of what we might be in for. This story takes us from one group to another the whole time we are meeting hybrids (half human half whatever animal they are mixed with) we are learning more about the religion, the culture, and the ultimate story.

This is a fast pace, action filled story that moves seamlessly from one story arc into the next story arc while at the same time moving along in a well pace manner. I really didn’t find any spot that was too confusing and by the end all my questions were answered. I would like to know more about the dragon race as well as what happens now to the Earth Angels. Not to mention more history on them would be good as in how many Gods are there? And is there an Angel for each God? I would also like to see how the Orlando story line wraps up plus what the future has in store for Gabrielle.

The story did have a well written ending and wraps up nicely without any major cliff hangers. There is also a great battle scene at the end that was very engaging and did help to sympathize a little more with some of the characters I just couldn’t relate to. That being said it almost feels as if the author left just enough questions for us to demand or request a sequel. And apparently that was her goal I just saw that this is a series so I will be checking out the rest in this series.
