Escape from reality comes in patent-leather Prada kneeboots
Dominic Brioni's assignment is simple. Befriend the American and bring her to justice. Only Lexie seems the most unlikely terrorist Dominic has ever met. Sweet, determined, and direct, she faces life with courage and fire, a fire that sparks his protective instincts and a longing for something more--something he allowed himself to hope for only once before.
But that woman betrayed him, and his boss isn't about to let him forget it. With his career on the line and Lexie in danger, will Dominic learn to trust his heart before they both get killed?
Praise for
Murder, Mi Amore
I loved this story! Tons of action, mystery, suspense and romance filled the pages of this fast-paced read. There characters were a delight and the storyline kept me on the edge of my seat. Murder, Mi Amore is a definite must read for lovers or romantic suspense.
Murder Mi Amore by Cara Marsi is a suspenseful romance where the hero and heroine must learn to trust again, not only to let love in, but also to stay alive.
Ms. Marsi has a hit on her hands in this book. I couldn't put the book down. I love a good suspense, but this was a terrific suspense with just the right amount of romance. Dominic is a man any woman would swoon over and I'm not sure I know a woman who wouldn't want to be Lexie. The imagery was so vivid of the scenery (the streets, the shops, the restaurants). I want to go to Italy now!
What's not to love in this fast-paced romantic thriller? There's a compelling storyline (already well-covered elsewhere in these reviews), a sweet American heroine with good instincts but recently battered self-esteem, a charming but conflicted Italian hero whose sexy protectiveness provides an added dose of chemistry to the mix, a plot that careens madly from one danged thing to another, building suspense as surely as it builds sexual tension, and all of this limned against the splendid scenery of magnificent, sunny Italy!
I believe I'm becoming seriously addicted to Cara Marsi's stories, as I recognize in them some very appealing commonalities: the main characters, without fail, demonstrate the sort of evolutionary growth arc which you usually associate less with romance novels than with more "literary" fiction (if you'll pardon the pomp).
Add to that all the little 'aha!' moments of human realism that make her characters literally leap off the page to inhabit your own thoughts and emotions as if they were beloved -- or not so beloved -- friends or family, with all the quirks and complexities that go with them, and then top it all off with the kind of soul-warmth that leans toward happy endings like wildflowers to the sun -- and there you have, I believe, the quintessential Cara Marsi novel.
So, by all means, read and enjoy!!
