Book Synopsis

Twenty-four year old Phoebe Hawley is on a quest to find a place for her homeless family. Phoebe is Alabama tough, country smart and sapling thin. On the road with two siblings, twelve year-old Maydean and five year-old Willie-Boy, Phoebe is out of money, out of gas and out of patience. Now the only things she owns in abundance are Hawley backbone and Hawley pride--neither of which she can trade for food or gas.

A collision with Gage Morgan puts Phoebe's mission in even worse jeopardy--until Phoebe discovers Gage Morgan owns the perfect place for the Hawley clan.

But Gage Morgan has a bruised ego, a tight fist on his wallet and an iron fist on his heart. Once Phoebe discovers Gage is too wily to succumb to her schemes to pilfer his wallet and claim his home, she has to try something different to win his heart.

But will Hawley backbone and Hawley pride step aside to let her do it?

Crystal N.'s Review

Phoebe Hawley is in charge of her sister Maydean and and brother Willie-Boy. She has been sent to find a job and a place for her family to live. She has Hawley pride and they don't stand on hand outs and being beholden to anyone. She might not have the body that every woman wants but she has a brain and she knows how to use it.

Gage Morgan has a junk yard and that is where he lives with his nine year old daughter. He has to live knowing that before his wife died she was seeing another man who was also killed with her. He doesn't really know how to take care of his daughter and he doesn't trust a woman as far as he can throw her. When he meets Phoebe from crashing into his truck, he just doesn't know how much his life is going to change.

This book will make you laugh and entertained from beginning until the end. Phoebe is a spit fire and goes after what she wants. I have never read a book by this author before but I like her writing style. Sometimes it was a little hard to read because of the way Phoebe talked but I enjoyed it. It is great to read a book about a woman that has a family and does what she can to take care of them. This was a great romance story.
