This book, first instalment in a series, is difficult to review without giving the plot away. It is the story or seventeen-year-old, keen musician Emily Stokes, who is obsessed with getting her first kiss with Alex, the boy she likes.

It takes a hundred pages for something to happen and distract Emily from fantasizing about this boy. The Stokes move to the country! That's Mom, Dad, seven-year-old Kat, and Emily.

Soon Emily meets Sam, the boy next door (a few miles away). And, of course, falls for him. And, at last, the reader gets the promised suspense and paranormal, while Emily's sanity is being seriously questioned.

I enjoyed reading the middle of the book with all its twists and humour, the race to save Emily, but not so much the long mushy beginning...... It is a book for the romantic enthusiasts.

It's 3.5 stars from me.
