There have been a lot of changes to the site in the last few months. It started with the upgraded book review list.

Thanks, Eric!

Our upgraded book review list makes it easy to find one of our book reviews. You can sort by each of the columns. So, if you're looking for one of our 5 star reviews, simply click on Rating (one of the table headings), and the list will sort. It starts with the lower ratings, so you have to click it again to see the 5 stars. Of course, you may want to look at some of our 2 star reviews.

Another significant change to the site has been in the menu bar at the top. There's lots more going on up there than before. Have you explored all the selections?

I'm going to be tweaking the navigation as the site continues to grow and expand, so check back every once in a while—there will always be something new.

More than just book reviews

The main feature of this site has been book reviews, and they will continue to play a very prominent role; however, lots of new types of posts have been making their debut recently. The first of these was Featured Followers. If you follow us on Twitter, we'd be happy to promote you and your writing related blog.

Other promotional services we've started recently:
  • Amazon Shout Outs
  • Book Trailers
  • Novel Excerpts
  • Short Stories
  • Teasers (for yet to be published novels)

Note: some of these are so new they don't appear in the menu bar.

Is there something you'd like to see us do? We'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment, contact us through the menu bar, or send me an email. msl_007 {AT} live {DOT} com

Preparing for more

All of these changes (and more yet to come) are part of a master plan. No, I'm not taking over the world ... unless you're offering to help. Though The Masquerade Crew started as a simple book review site, we are not content to stay there. We want to help authors along every part of their journey—from story conception (brainstorming) to marketing, publishing, and beyond.

As the following picture shows, our traffic has been increasing steadily in the last few months. We've still got several days left in May, so I have no doubt that we will out pace April by a nice chunk. I'm not just building traffic to stroke my ego—it's all part of the plan.

Lots of ways to follow us

Are we missing a prominent way? Let us know how you'd like to follow us, and we'll look into it.

I highlighted the RSS (email) option in the title of this post because that is the one way you won't miss anything that we post. The only thing that doesn't appear on that feed are our 1 and 2 star reviews, for we feel it would be disrespectful to draw attention to a bad review. You're more than welcome to look them up yourself, though.
