The Armor Of God

Written by Diego Valenzuela

Genre: Sci-Fi, Post-Apocalyptic

The first book in this epic sci-fi trilogy, THE ARMOR OF GOD, is set in a once-beautiful planet razed by a malignant alien virus called the Laani. Having effectively shielded itself from the wreckage of the world, the last remaining human settlement is Roue. Within this domed city, the last humans live comfortable lives, awaiting their inevitable extinction.

In the year of his eighteenth birthday, Ezra Blanchard must take part in military service, but when the army discovers that Ezra's blood possesses extremely rare qualities, he is placed to be trained in Zenith, a top secret facility hidden from the citizens of Roue where Ezra discovers humanity’s last glimmer of hope: the Creux.

These mysterious suits of armor of unknown origin and unimaginable power are the only weapon capable of battling the Laani virus on a microscopic level, and one of them can only be piloted by Ezra, a young man who doesn’t even believe humanity has a future.

Ezra enters an exciting new world full of new friends, new enemies, and new challenges, quickly understanding that training to pilot the Creux is not easy for body, mind, or spirit, and that Zenith, and its inhabitants, could hold some very dark secrets.

Here's what

Fans are saying

Valenzuela builds a robust scifi world and gripping plot that demands a immediate sequel!

Engrossing, imaginative and intense, The Armor of God is a triumph of military science fiction that explores the personal and technological elements of the world, with a plot that ticks quickly along, drawing your deeper into the mystery of the world's lore.

Good military science fictions allows a special focus on the training of characters, and much like the soldiers in John Scalzi's Old Man's War and Robert Heinlein's Starship Troopers, the Creux piloting characters of The Armor of God develop through their unique and well visualized training into the soldiers the world desperately needs in order to survive the Laani that threaten humanity with extinction.

A darkly suspenseful sci-fi epic...

New author Diego Valenzuela has written an unusual, original sci-fi book here that will be absorbing and engaging even for people who don't usually read the genre.

I loved the language, the names that Valenzuela chose for his cities (Roue, Zenith), the believable relationships between Ezra and his peers. This novel is darkly suspenseful and ends on a note of nailbiting tension that will have you waiting for Book 2.

Author Bio

Diego Valenzuela

Diego Valenzuela was born in Mexico City in February 1986. He grew up in a bilingual school and spent one year abroad in Dublin, where his passion for reading and writing took flight. Maybe it was the new pastures of Ireland, or its sheer beauty, so different to where he grew up, but that's where he discovered that his calling was in imagining new and different worlds.

Ever since, through middle school, high school, and college, he's been writing incessantly, and has authored several full length screenplays and two novels. He also runs the pop culture website Wolf in a Gorilla Suit and sings in progressive death metal band Watercolor Butterfly.

His next novels, "Reverie of Gods", "Numen", and "The Unfinished World (The Armor of God, #2)" will be published sometime between 2015 and 2016.
