Levon F.'s Review

I am pretty much speechless when it comes to this read…it’s not really in a “blew my mind” kind of way but not in a horrible way either. This book left me satisfied. Tower in the Woods is a retelling of Rapunzel but set in a zombie apocalypse.

Nel, our Rapunzel character, is stationed in her tower as a sniper to take out any zombie that infiltrates the area. She belongs to a cult called WITCH that is run by a psychotic older woman named Mother Goethel.

While Nel is in the tower she is faced with a dilemma that she hasn't encountered in the years she’s been stationed/captive, there is a non-zombie running toward her tower that she struggles to decide whether to shoot or not.

The non-zombie happens to be the first man she has ever seen in her life thanks to the cult’s teachings against male and female interactions. His name is Dane. He enters her tower for safety but once he takes in her looks, he quickly devises an agenda which involves them both naked in each other’s arms.

I feel that the author provided just enough background info to not make the reader feel overwhelmed. Plus I could definitely tell that the story was based on Rapunzel yet it was a new story and plot making the book a total new read outside of the fairytale.

The romance was sweet and the action was just enough to whet your buds. I really like the ending and it left me overall satisfied with the story. Great job.
