Drama Muscle
A Nicky and Noah Mystery Book 2
Written by Joe Cosentino
Genre(s): Mystery
It could be lights out for college theatre professor Nicky Abbondanza. With dead bodybuilders popping up on campus, Nicky, and his favorite colleague/life partner Noah Oliver, must use their drama skills to figure out who is taking down pumped up musclemen in the Physical Education building before it is curtain down for Nicky and Noah. Complicating matters is a visit from Noah’s parents from Wisconsin, and Nicky’s suspicion that Noah may be hiding more than a cut, smooth body.
You will be applauding and shouting Bravo for Joe Cosentino’s fast-paced, side-splittingly funny, edge-of-your-seat entertaining second novel in this delightful series. Curtain up and weights up!

Walki's Review
gay male fantasy/satire
The murder of a bodybuilding student at the Treameadow College is only the first in a series and only an excuse for professors Nicky Abbondanza and Noah Oliver to impersonate Holmes and Watson. And an excuse for Nicky to indulge in voyeurism and gossiping.
I expected a gay mystery novel, but ‘Drama Muscle’ is more of a comedy, a satire, vaudeville and a gay male fantasy for adults. Joe Cocentino has an extended vocabulary, but not as much imagination. The story line is an excuse for Abbondanza to indulge in his voyeuristic habits. And they seem to be a lot of sex happening in Treameadow College.
Characters are mostly the caricatures expected for a satire, frequently more brawny than brainy. Puns and alliterations would have been more powerful without the signposting. Descriptions of places and sex scenes were equally dry, leaving nothing to the reader’s imagination. Or was it the point of the exercise?
Anyhow, while readable ‘Drama Muscle’ is more for readers who don’t require depth for their easy reading.
