A serial killer, nicknamed the Tick-Tock Killer by the media, kidnaps female children and kills them after exactly four days. Emily and Rick, ‘Shadow Detectives’, are on his trail. They almost caught him once and intend to stop him before he kills Sara Littleton, his latest victim.
This is the fifth book in the Emily Stone series and Emily is a character with a strong personality in the tradition of V.I. Warshawski (created by Sara Paretsky), Kat Colorado (created by Karen Kijewski) and Lauren Laurano (created by Sandra Scoppetone). Emily and her partner both have a police background.
‘Dark Pursuit’ is a captivating thriller, filled with tension. It starts with a car chase and is frequently fast-paced. Its main character, Emily Stone, is intelligent and tenacious. Jennifer Chase created a credible role model who works hard and with great focus to get results. ‘Dark Pursuit’ is a gripping read that would have been even better if typos weren’t so many.
