Dazed and Confused

Jane the Hippie Vampire, Book Five

Written by Lisa Lane

Genre(s): Horror

She's broke and homeless. She's a vegetarian. She's undead.

Jane has had one hell of a time ever since she bumped into the wrong guy during the Summer of Love, but she's taken it all in stride. Wandering from town to town, she seeks out the needy and the broken in hopes of breaking the curse that's left her bloodthirsty and forever seventeen.

In this fifth novella in the dramatic horror series, Jane the Hippie Vampire, Jane stumbles upon a small, secluded town in the Nevada desert, where the simple life seems to have its residents in a rut. When patient zero of a biological weapons test stirs up some action, Jane finds herself amidst a whole different breed of undead—and in the middle of a war zone designed to leave no witnesses behind.

Walki's Review

Survival

She's been a hippie and a vampire since the Summer of Love and looks like a friendly dope-loving 17-year-old who needs a bath and a pair of shoes. Travelling across the USA, Jane stumbles across an unremarkable small town where teenagers are falling prey to a new designer marijuana and turn into ....... zombies.

Lisa Lane's writing is entertaining. Her character, Jane, is always credible and frequently intriguing. Other characters are as developed as Jane gets to know them. What is actually more alive about this hippie vampire is her guilty conscience. She regularly has memories flashing back, haunting her. Is she trying to buy her way to heaven?

As per usual, survival is the name of the game for Jane, but it is never simple. 'Dazed and Confused' is not the first novella featuring this hippie vampire, and every time she has to learn or be patient. I am sure it'll happen again, to the delight of readers.
