End-of-the-year Cover Wars/Scavenger Hunt Extravaganza ... Part 1

Although the Sci-Fi version of Cover Wars and the Scavenger Hunt hasn't been as successful as Romance month, the results so far are still powerful. Almost 900 votes in Cover Wars, and more than 60 people have interacted with the Scavenger Hunt. And we still have some time.

The original plan for November and December was to create an 8 week extravaganza, but I'm not so sure now. At the time of preparing this post, only two people have signed up. Could be my absence at the beginning of the month (10 day vacation) may have something to do with it.

Also, one author mentioned that their book doesn't come out into the end of November, so combining all the variables, I think I will separate November and December. All genres will still be accepted, so the only thing that changes is the time frame. (the two who signed up already get a free entry into the December campaign)

Instead of having a month long theme, each week will be a different theme. Instead of trying to garner enough attention for each weekly theme, Cover Wars and the Scavenger Hunt will be open to anyone and everyone.

Let's call it an end-of-the-year extravaganza. We'll do one in November, and at the moment plans are to do it again in December. (Stay tuned)

Four weeks of fierce competition for any author—any book. A fight to the finish with a choice of two prizes to the winning book.

More promotion or get your money back

As was offered starting with the Romance version, the winner of the Cover Wars Extravaganza will have the option of getting more promotion on this site—a promo post, tweets to promote that post, and a few extra tweets to promote the book directly on Amazon. However, a second option will be available for this version of the campaign.

The winner can choose to get their money back. In fact, I'll throw in an extra $5. To state it clearly, you pay $15 to get in the Cover Wars competition (and Scavenger Hunt). If you win the competition, you get $20 back if you choose that option.

How does Cover Wars work?

The power behind Cover Wars is the community driven traffic. You bring your family, friends, and anyone else you can get—have them come to the site to vote for your book every day. By doing this you are helping your fellow competitors.

Yes, someone will win something (either more promotion or some money back), but the exposure factor cannot be denied.

Most of those will see your book, possibly more than once.

What about the Scavenger Hunt?

Each scavenger will be encouraged to check out each book in the competition. They go to your book's Amazon page and answer a question about your book for a chance at a gift card.

They can also choose to follow you on Twitter, like you on Facebook, not to mention check out your blog to answer another scavenger hunt question. Once again the exposure factor cannot be ignored.

So, if you've wanted to be in Cover Wars but didn't feel like going up against the wrong genre, now's your chance. All genres will be accepted during the end-of-the-year Cover Wars Extravaganza.

Does your cover have what it takes to go all the way? Would you like to find out?
