Authors, list your #free book(s) for free. Details here:
EDIT: This idea needs some work since sharing on Facebook has a certain flaw in it. I will revisit this later. You can be sure of that.
I tried this a few days ago on Facebook. This status was used by two authors to list their free book. It was seen by more than 200 people, and it was clicked on 20 times. Of course, 2 of those times was by the authors themselves—but that's besides the point, right?
Although the first test wasn't as successful and snowballing as I would have liked, it did prove that this idea has merit, bringing more people to our Facebook page. After all, none of our other statuses are seen more than 200 times, and few statuses are clicked on more than a few times.
I think we can do better, though.
So here's the plan. I will have a new status update each day to list your book(s) for free. All you have to do is post a link in the comments.
- Please, only list your free books, and they must be free the day of the status.
- If your book is free the next day, wait for the appropriate status.
- One link per comment.
- Do not link to your website/blog.
- Only link to a retailer where the book can be downloaded for free (Amazon, Smashwords, B&N, etc...)
- Do not write a long comment in addition to the link.
- A short comment such as "Check out my #mystery #thriller" is OK.
- And as you can tell, I encourage hashtags on Facebook. Just don't overdo them.
- Share the status with your Facebook friends to create the snowballing effect.
- Since this blog post will be used to advertise this service for several days, do not link to your free book in the comments below. Feel free to ask questions, though.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. You can leave a comment on this blog post (as mentioned above) or send me an email.

Click the appropriate date to list your free book(s). More dates will be added as the calendar rolls around.
Monday, October 28th
Tuesday, October 29th
Last thing: the current status will be easily accessible by clicking Free Books on the left side of the page. (The blue button near the top of the page)
