World of Words by @JeanNicole19

Cover links to Amazon.com The following is a guest post from JeanNicole Rivers . World of Words There is no greater value in reading than that of learning. There is no greater gift than an education about self and about the world. Through reading you can tour the universe from a cozy corner of your home, while peeking over the lip of your favorite coffee mug through the curtain of steam from your chai tea.

Congrats to @AlexiaAdamsAuth, winner of the Romance Cover Wars

Twitter Marketing gets a much needed face-lift

Image
N o, I'm not talking about marketing via Twitter in general. What's getting a much needed face-lift is how I will be doing Twitter Marketing. Up till now I've never been able to pinpoint details such as how many tweets and how long they will be running. That's no longer going to be the case.

How would you like me to promote your book?

This promotion offer is no longer used. Use the "Advertise Your Book" link on the menu to access the most recent info.

Why I'm leaning away from multiple post advertising campaigns

Image
I n the previous post I discussed some of the changes I'll soon put into place in regards to advertising on this site. My goal is to simplify, though it wouldn't surprise me if complexity finds its way in. One way in which I hope to simplify is to lean away from multiple post campaigns. If I can put everything into one post without presenting the blog equivalent of a novel, this could have a positive effect on the entire process.

Please excuse my addled, bipolar mania ... AGAIN!

Image
I've gone and done it again. T hose of you who have followed this blog for a while may remember this post from a little more than a year ago. I was completely honest about how I overreach sometimes. A lot of times. Most of the time. Heck, all the time. Those who know me the best know this all too well: my wife, my parents, and my business partner (DeeJay). They know to ignore about half of what I say and to take with a grain of salt the other half.

Dear Hollywood: Stop Taking My Wonder Away, syndicated from @JCGAuthor

The following is syndicated from the website of Jonathan C. Gillespie and is posted here with permission. I was all set to do the second part of a recent two-part blog series on significant weapons in history, when I ran headlong into the “Collector’s Edition” Blu-ray version of Prometheus, a film I not only paid good money to see in the theater last summer, but wrote a glowing review of. There on the four-disk jacket were infamous words: “Questions Will be Answered”.

Indie eBook publishing - Things I learned the hard way, syndicated from @Tinksaid

Image
The following is syndicated from the website of Julia Hughes and is posted here with permission. WE'VE ONLY JUST BEGUN: When I first discovered Amazon allowed authors to upload their ebooks for distribution on their site, I did a little happy dance. On the ceiling. A few months later I'm older and wiser as I've discovered that writing, formatting and uploading an indie ebook is only the beginning. With three quarters of a million books available for download on Amazon alone, why should readers pick your outpourings? "Because it's well written and the characters are fleshed out and loveable and the dialogue zings and the plot has amazing twists and turns and the story line is original and ... " Yeah yeah yeah. Your's and thousands of others babe. Your book sparkles and shines; entertains and enlightens, but until it begins to sell, it isn't going to get reviews or ratings and without reviews or ratings it ain't gonna sell. A classic cat...

I’ve Written A Rough Draft, Now What? syndicated from @JeanNicole19 #amediting

Image
The following is syndicated from the website of JeanNicole Rivers and is posted here with permission. So you finally got that book down on paper, a rough draft, but still the characters have been created and a basic series of events with a beginning, middle and end are in place (but boy is it rough). I know what you’re saying, “I am exhausted, my creativity is depleted, there are lots of holes in the plot, the character’s names change and I am don’t know if I even want to finish the manuscript.” Don’t panic, don’t give up, you are on the verge of greatness.

Authors, here are the next 8 genres we will be reviewing.

Image
W E ARE GOING to do book reviews a little differently in November and December. Instead of having a theme for all month, we are going to do themes by the week. The reason for this is simple. We are going to review books in less populated genres, or at least genres we haven't done a lot of before. It's a trial run, in a way.
