Scattered Seasons
The Season Avatars Book 2

Written by Sandra Ulbrich Almazan

Genre(s): Fantasy

Lady Gwendolyn lo Havil is an Ava Spring, born to heal others and lead the Season Avatars of her generation.

Season Avatars with divine magic must work in groups of four to save the country of Challen from Chaos Season, times when all of the seasons appear at once.

When the current Ava Spring dies in a riding accident, Gwen must find the other three Season Avatars she will link with. But two of them are missing, and with Gwen's own magic crippled by a cursed pottery shard, she will have to use all of her skills to find the Avatars scattered across the country of Challen.

During her journey, she meets a stranger who claims to know the shard's origin. Is he truly an ally of the Season Avatars, or is he trying to stop them from uniting?

Da Rubout's Review

Sweet and Dreamy

A courageous and dedicated heroine, a feisty sidekick, and a somewhat addled but devoted aunt set out on a mission to save their land from potential disaster.

Gwen, the heroine, and Jenna, her sidekick, are two of four Season Avatars. They must work together to prevent Chaos Season, a time when all four seasons appear at once. But the Avatars must work as a quartet; Gwen and Jenna need to find the other two, Kay and Ysabel.

A strange curse that cripples Gwen’s powers and the cryptic character of Kron add to the challenge.

I would have liked a little more action. Then again, these were two young women attempting to be superheroes hampered by a Victorian society that forbade unescorted women even to enter certain dining establishments, so they did what they could given those limitations.
