I'll tweet about your book on Amazon. #marketing pic.twitter.com/HDWmFG7ImG

This post is now out of date!

"You can't sell books on Twitter," say the naysayers.
But I say, "Hog wash!"

Perhaps you won't sell very many books (if any) solely because of a tweet, but that doesn't mean Twitter shouldn't be part of your front line defense. Be it directing attention to a blog (which I can directly attest to) or sending prospective customers to Amazon, Twitter is a rich source of traffic.

Twitter has done its job once people land on your blog or your book's Amazon page.

Whether you get a sale after that has little to do with Twitter, which is why "Buy My Book" tweets do not work. Not saying you'll never sell a book that way, but the chances are rare ... that's why I don't use that technique.

My Twitter Technique

Instead, I direct attention to reviews, the synopsis, and lines directly from the novel. I use hashtags to reel people in who do not follow any of our accounts. I also use pictures to draw attention to the tweet within the feed.

And we get a lot of retweets, especially from the accounts that have larger followings, such as my main account (@MasqCrew) which is nearing 50,000 followers just by itself. Once you add in our other accounts, we have well over 100,000 followers.

A Book Tweeting Service

Normally our Twitter promotion directs attention to this blog and the promo posts therein. However, we're starting to send people directly to Amazon more and more. It's very much like the Amazon Tweet Exchange, except instead of tweeting about us, you'll give us cash, and then we will tweet for you.

But it won't be a lot of cash. As always, we keep our services cheap ... so hopefully you'll come back again and again. And again.

The tweets I compose will come from the book's Amazon page and from an excerpt if you supply one, which is recommended, especially for packages 3 and 4.

There is no minimum number of tweets that will go out. I will continue tweeting for the foreseeable future. So, the only differences in the packages is the number of tweets that go out each time, how many different kinds of tweets are circulating in total.

Which means that I will most likely send out hundreds or even thousands of tweets. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if a book with package 4 hits 10,000 or more tweets. I'll most likely keep tweeting until you tell me to stop.

This service is not meant for time specific campaigns, so don't expect me to promote a giveaway or a sale on Amazon. These are long-term tweets. Same goes for box sets: if it is only going to be sold for a few months, you'll have to email me once it's no longer for sale.

Packages Start at Just $5

Package #1 — $5: 5 different tweets

Package #2 — $10: 10 different tweets

Package #3 — $15: 20 different tweets

Package #4 — $25...

  • More than 20 tweets, or as many as possible.
  • Where there is room (shorter tweets), I will use a picture that links directly in the Twitter feed, much like this tweet.
  • Package 4 is great for box sets since I can usually compose 40 or 50 tweets easily. (You'll have to send me an email once the box set is no longer for sale. I probably won't catch it soon enough.)

Supplying an Excerpt

Sometimes it's difficult coming up with enough tweets from the information on Amazon alone, especially if you don't have any reviews. This problem is obliterated if you supply a link to an excerpt.

I do not accept excerpts via email, and I CAN NOT USE THE EXCERPT ON AMAZON, so you will have to provide a link to an excerpt online. The best place is your blog. You should have one there anyway. If not, a Facebook status update will do. Or you can use a text service such as https://justpaste.it/.

Please do not make me search for your excerpt ... because I won't do it. Thus, your link needs to go directly to your excerpt.

Cheaper Elsewhere? Doubtful!

I doubt you could find any other tweet service this cheap. Tweets with package 4, for example, will average less than a penny and a half each.

Secret Word

Both on the Paypal Form (which is ON THIS PAGE, not the Paypal website) as well as the Google form, we ask for a secret word. We use this to match up your payment with your package details you submit via form. Choose something other authors aren't likely to choose — perhaps something unique to either you or one of your books.

Once you have paid for a package, fill out the form at THIS LINK to turn in your promo info.
