Bec's Review

Movie Star falling for your average girl and whisking her away to her happy after. I know, we’ve heard it all before right? Well except for the fact that Chloe doesn’t want to be part of that lifestyle and would rather be just friends with said movie star. Add a jealous, straight male, best friend and remove the sex that inevitably seems to go with this kind of romance story and you’re left with Someone Else’s Fairytale. While you know how this story is going to end when you pick it up it is refreshing to have a girl who resists being swept off her feet by the riches and extravagance of the famous lifestyle and who just wants normal and who isn’t willing to just fall into bed with a guy.

That said there were some points in the book that dragged a bit. The initial set up of Chloe and Jason’s relationship was slow, and while a lot of that had to do with defining Chloe as the type of girl to not fool around or fall for the mega rich guy, it does make you wish the romantic substance would arrive already. After all you read these books to be swept away into the romance, and while there were parts of this book that did sweep you away other parts did not.

Beyond that this book was a good read, especially if you want your romance stories without the need for the couple to physically throw themselves at each other, as some people do. It is always nice to be able to slip into a fairytale romance story like this one, and even though Chloe states that this is someone else’s Fairytale you will soon be swept away in the love and the romance yourself. Definitely an ideal book for the romantic at heart.
