Can you write a story in just 100 words?

I'm happy to promote another writing contest going on right now. This one calls for a lot less words than our short story competition calls for, but it comes with its own set of challenges. Have you ever written flash fiction? It's a whole different thing from writing longer pieces of fiction. No words can be wasted. Every word must count.

If you think you've got what it takes, give it a try. Not much to lose. Plus there's a prize for the winner.

The following was written by Shirley McLain (pictured to the right).

Flash Fiction Contest

This contest is for anyone that likes, and wants to write flash fiction. I am starting a contest for you to write a 100 word piece of flash fiction using the subject obsession to see what you come up with. In fact, the person who submits the best flash fiction to me will win their choice of an eBook (under $4.00) from Amazon.com. Please send the flash fiction as an attachment along with the name and author of the eBook you would like to have. Please include the email address where you would like the book sent. Emails will be deleted so be sure you attachment has the needed information. Last day for submissions will be March 31, 2012 and the winner will be announced on April 14th, 2012. Send entries to shirley_mclain [AT] yahoo [DOT] com Happy Flashing…
