F or those of you who do not know, the Masquerade Crew is putting together a series of time-travel anthologies, the first of them hopefully to come out in the next few months. No final date has been set and probably won't be until right before we are ready to release the hounds. This has been a project a year in the making. It's about time we got somewhere with it.

Are you looking for an ebook cover designer?

I f you're looking for an inexpensive ebook cover designer, I recommend Niina from For The Love Of Reading Cover Design . She's done one of the covers for our upcoming time travel anthology series. We'll reveal that cover when the publishing date is a little closer, but first, let's get to know Niina a little bit.

What's going on with our Time Travel Anthology?

Image
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this project, I am putting together an anthology of time travel short stories. I received submissions during September (a few months back) and sent them out to beta readers. Not all beta readers responded with their opinions, and because at the time I had not read most of the stories, I didn't engage most of the beta readers.

Looking for Beta Readers for our Time Travel Anthology

Buffer For those of you who haven't heard, we are putting together an anthology of short stories to be published on Amazon as an e-book. The theme of the anthology is time travel, specifically the following prompt: In the spirit of H.G. Well's "The Time Machine," one character or a group of characters travel many years into the future. What do they find there? Are they able to come back home, or are they trapped? What has become of mankind? Is life better or worse? What's the political climate? The real climate? (IOW mother nature) The choices are up to you.

26 Submissions for our Time Travel Anthology — is yours one of them?

Accepting submissions for our Time Travel Anthology of Short Stories

Buffer We're working on an anthology of short stories based upon a certain theme. My goal is to have them published on Amazon by the end of the year. We'll see if we can finish it. There's no charge to submit a story, and if your story is picked up, there's still no charge. A team of volunteers will provide a wide range of services: beta reading, developmental editing, copy editing, ebook formatting, cover design, and marketing. These services will be compensated by a share of the royalties and/or promotion via The Masquerade Crew.

Changing Gears: Would you like to be published in our Time Travel anthology?

Image
Buffer Click the Buffer Button to add this post to your Buffer Account. OK, I'm completely changing gears. Back in the spring I blogged about a short story writing contest that would lead to the publishing of an anthology, and there was prize money involved. To read about it, click HERE . The ultimate goal was always to publish. The contest was simply a way to make it fun. And the prize money was put forth in order to attract attention and get people moving.

Calling all editors: I invite you to showcase your skill.

In an attempt to get the ball rolling with our short story contest, I'm going to hold a little mini-contest. Well, it isn't exactly a contest, more a showcase of skill. I'm inviting all those interested in helping us edit for our short story contest to help me edit a different short story of mine (no connection to the contest). The results of this experiment will help me decide where best to use people for the actual contest.

Have you heard about our short story writing contest?

Image
It's been a while since I've blogged about our short story writing contest. The last time was March 15th when the prompt became public. There's quite a bit to read on the subject, which you can do starting HERE . Some of the information has changed since the original set of posts, and that's the goal of this post: bring everyone up to date.

Our Short Story Writing Prompt

This post reveals the writing prompt for the contest which I blogged about here . No special fanfare. Here's the prompt: In the spirit of H.G. What has become of mankind? Is life better or worse? What's the political climate? The real climate? (IOW mother nature) The choices are up to you.

Comments, questions & suggestions about our upcoming writing contest are welcome & encouraged.

But there’s a lot more that people can help us with in connection with the contest and subsequent publishing venture.

Which judging system should we use? Let us know.
